As you may remember from a meeting with Virginia and the Plan Managers, the
Health/Life Policy department has two new programs rolling out in April.
The Retiree Point-of-Service (RPOS) Plan is an additional medical option for AA
retirees, under 65 - an alternative to the current Retiree Standard Medical
Plan. Eligible retirees will receive enrollment material in the mail in late
March. Those who wish to enroll in the RPOS Plan must complete, sign and return
the enrollment form. No action is needed if the retiree does not wish to enroll
in the RPOS Plan for 2004.
Each year, beginning in October 2004, an annual enrollment will be held for
retirees to choose their plans for the following calendar year. The enrollment
will be conducted on-line via Jetnet.
See attached RPOS Talking Points and brochure for more details.
Centers of Excellence - American Airlines is teaming up with UnitedHealthcare (UHC)
to offer UHC's new Cardiac Centers Program. The program will launch on April 1,
2004 in DFW, PHX, SDF and DEN. Other major locations will be added throughout
the year. COE for cardiology hospitals are a subset of the UHC participating
hospitals in these markets. Benefits for services at a COE hospital are the
same as for any other UHC participating hospitals. Detailed information is
being mailed later this month to UHC plan participants in the cities listed
above.
See attached COE Talking Points and brochure for more details.
