A Sad Day in Our Nation's History, September 11, 2001

September 11, 2001 will be a day that will never be forgotten, it will be remembered as a sad day in our nation's history. It will be remembered as a day of fear, uncertainty and deep sadness. What happened on Tuesday will change all our lives forever.

I started this page as a tribute to all who lost their lives, the thousands of innocent people, as well as the hundreds of heroes who lost their lives trying to save others. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who lost family and friends on this day, your pain and suffering is felt by all.

Throughout this tragedy I have seen one thing that makes me very proud. I have seen the Spirit of America! No terrorist can take that away from us! I have seen our nation come together, seeing strangers helping one another, to such an extreme that some have lost their lives to save others. God bless them all.

On a personal note, I am very deeply saddened by these tragic events. I will never forget the images that I saw on that sad day, I will never forget the fear, confusion and uncertainty I felt that morning. What was happening before my eyes? Was this real? How could this happen and why? As each day goes on, the reality of what has happened hits me harder. This was a senseless act of violence against innocent people. I am sickened to see our airplanes used as weapons. Passengers, flight crews and airplanes used by madmen to destroy thousands of lives. I wonder what has happened to our world and when will it end, and what will it cost in American lives to defend the world from these heinous acts. My prayers to all of our service men and women who may get called to defend this great country and bring peace back to our world. God be with you all.

Before finishing, I would ask each person who reads this to do this country a favor. First, take a second to reflect on what has happened; pray for all those who lost their lives, pray for their families and friends, and pray for our futures. Second, show you patriotism, display a flag, light a candle and be there for one another. Thank you.
